Herbal steaming. How to prepare a healing steam?

Do you know what a herbal steam bath is? It is a mixture of dried medicinal plants, twigs and shrubs, chopped up and placed in cloth bags. They are then steeped in boiling water. Herbal concoctions give an incredible aroma and have a healing effect, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxing in the sauna.
The use of improvised brews dates as far back as the 12th century in Europe. Doctors advised bath-goers to drink decoctions of medicinal plants, such as parsley, chamomile, mint and lavender. They also recommended exposing these plants to heated stones and breathing the healing steam.
Nowadays, to prepare brews, raw material is placed in a bath tub with hot water for 15-20 minutes. The obtained healing water is then sprinkled on the stones. The result is an incredible aroma!

-Mint - relieves irritation, headache and stimulates brain activity;

-Mugwort - good antiseptic, soothes inflammations;

-Mugwort - reduces headaches and stimulates performance;

-linden - great for insomnia, increases perspiration, promoting weight loss;

-Spruce and pine needles - inhaling these vapours improves the respiratory system and tones the body.

Their essential oils have an antimicrobial effect and promote healing of wounds and pustules.
Recipes: How to prepare decoctions for the bath
A decoction with immune-stimulating, calming and memory-enhancing effects.
Put 1 tablespoon of crushed wormwood, 2 tablespoons of peppermint and 2 tablespoons of blackcurrant leaves in a sack made especially for the decoction. Soak in 5 litres of boiling water.
Mugwort in a bath is good for wounds, bruises and ulcers. It helps smooth out fine wrinkles. As well as mint, it relieves nervous and muscular tension, removes fatigue and headache. Currant leaves help you recover from flu and acute respiratory infections.
Decoction for the restoration of the bone and joint system, improve the condition of the skin and hair.
For this decoction, combine 2 tablespoons each of ground leaves of clover, meadowsweet and rhizomes of cinquefoil.

The meadowsweet has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, improves hair structure. Melilot reduces blood pressure and has anticonvulsant properties. It is effective for diseases of the upper respiratory tract, skin diseases, abscesses and boils. It also speeds up the maturation of boils. Thanks cinquefoil quickly relieves inflammation in the cartilage and pain in the spine. It is used for osteoarthritis and arthritis, osteochondrosis and rheumatism, radiculitis and other diseases of the bone and joint system.
