Ayurvedic Ashrams in India: Uniting Body, Mind, and Soul

In India, there exists an ancient tradition of Ayurvedic baths known as "Abhyanga." It is a form of massage conducted using special Ayurvedic oils. Abhyanga has deep roots in Ayurvedic medicine and is considered a key part of regular practice for maintaining health and harmony in the body.

During Abhyanga, masseurs use various herbal oils adapted to the specific needs of the individual. The oils are selected according to Ayurvedic principles to balance the energy in the body and improve overall health. This massage not only contributes to muscle relaxation and stress relief but also stimulates blood circulation, improves sleep, strengthens the immune system, and rejuvenates the skin.

Abhyanga is also considered a powerful means of cleansing the body of toxins. During proper massage, the oil is absorbed into the skin, penetrates tissues and organs, improving their function and stimulating the elimination of toxins and waste.

In India, Ayurvedic baths are available in specialized Ayurvedic centers and sanatoriums, as well as in luxurious hotels and resorts. Each Abhyanga session typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and may include not only body massage but also head and face massage.
